The outstanding cemetery, with 4,000 Renaissance, Baroque and Classicist tombstones, was established in the 15th century; on the rabbinical knoll are buried notable provincial rabbis, including Menachem Mendel Krochmal, Shemuel Shmelke Horowitz and Mordecai Benet.
